Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) is a public autonomous engineering and technology institute located in Palakkad, Kerala. IIT Palakkad was inaugurated on 3 August 2015 under the mentorship institute of IIT Madras from the academic year of 2015-16. Currently, IIT Palakkad is operating from its transit campus located inside the Ahalia Integrated Campus, Palakkad. The permanent campus is under construction in about a 500 acre land at Pudussery West.
Currently, IIT Palakkad offers four-year Undergraduate degree in engineering (B.Tech) in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. As the first batch is yet to be passed out so there is no placements takes place in the IIT Palakkad. An internship program is available for the third year students as an integral part of the curriculum, wherein the students get to spend a part of their summer/winter holidays in an Industrial or Research environment, depending on their interest.
