College of Engineering, Pune (CoE Pune) is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia, after College of Engineering, Guindy Chennai (1794) and IIT Roorkee (1847). CoE Pune was established in July 1854, with an aim to provide suitable learning to the subordinate officers in the Public Works Department. It is an autonomous engineering institute affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Earlier, college was affiliated to the University of Bombay in 1866. In 1868 the College moved to the New Buildings. The college was divided into three departments for matriculated and unmatriculated students.
College of Engineering, Pune offers 9 Undergraduate programs in Bachelor of Technology and 23 Postgraduate programs in different streams having more than 3800 students, 188 faculties for guiding them at every step and total of 400 administrative staff. The institution has been National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for all programs under Tier-2 (General) status for a period of 5 years from the year of 2012.
